WHAT DO WE DO
OilGene develops markers for breeding based on public data and scientific research.

We specialize in but not limited to:
soybean, sunflower, rapeseed etc.
Conducting R&D together with our Industrial and Scientific Partners.
OUR MISSION
We aim to help improving modern agriculture via using innovative technologies and science.
We can do good:
Making express tests for monogenic traits (pest and herbicide resistance, fertility restoration) for oilseeds
Scanning for genetic markers for monogenic traits
Analyse your germplasm
We can do even better:
Working with different crop varieties
Making genomics working for you creating new varieties using Genomic selection
OUR VALUE
Step: Identify targets
Step: Study the diversity
Step: Identify the genetic markers
Step: Development of genomic tools
Step: Testing
Step: Using
Let's find out what kind of variety you wish
Let's study what do you have and what we can get from other genetic resources
Let's use the pover of genomics to find out the markers of control
Let's develop a routine tool that will help to move fast
Let's make crosses and test the progeny or validate markers using independent plant sample
Everything is working perfect!
Just use it and the variety will come as planned.

6 steps to create new oilseed variety
Rapid DNA test for sunflower resistance detection to broomrape

Crop: SUNFLOWER
The broomrape is devastating sunflower pathogen that decrease yield for up to 90%. The mos effective way to restrict the pathogen is to introduce resistance genes into germplasm. This approach however requires field and green house tests that increase financial and time costs. Our solution is based on the rapid DNA testing which could be carried out in instantly in the field or greenhouse without complex equipment. The test is scalable for other monogenic traits and plants.

DNA test for hybrid testing in soybean

Crop: SOYBEAN

Soybean is a self-pollinating plant, so to introduce novel traits breeder must make an artificial cross-pollination. On the next step it is crucial to determine if the pollination was successful and if the beans are true hybrids. To test this we can perform a rapid DNA test to select the hybridized plants without field tests.
